Sudbury & District Citizens Advice makes a record of every enquiry raised by the public. This adds up to a vast wealth of information about the problems people experience. We use this evidence to highlight the effects that policies have on people and suggest where improvements can be made to the policies and services of local and national government and businesses. We aim to stop problems at their source using the direct experience of the communities Citizens Advice serve.
Information about the problems is sent to national Citizens Advice and evidence is collated to help campaign officers identify national trends. Citizens Advice can then present evidence to policy makers by writing reports and submissions and participating in consultations to improve policies.
Our Research & Campaigns team work proactively to prevent similar problems happening to others and are passionate about improving the lives of local residents and making society fairer for all. We support national campaigns delivered by Citizens Advice and plan, organise and deliver local campaigns on issues we believe have a particular importance for the local community. Previous campaigns include: Settled and Safe: a renter’s right, Big Energy Saving Week, Scam Awareness Month, National Consumer Week 2018 (find out more by visiting the campaign webpage), and Access to basic bank accounts.
